Polymer clay is a shapeable mix of pvc and liquid plastiques to which have been added pigments for color and/or mica, to impart an iridescent or metallic effect.

Sold under brand names like Fimo or Premo, in the past it was used mostly by hobbyists. Recently, however, artists have discovered its versatility and it has emerged as a recognized art form.
